Celebration VII

We just had our Celebration concert with over 3000 students from all over Utah. It happens once every three years because it takes 2 and a half years to plan I was feeling well enough to go! I helped lead the Allegros Violins – All of the teachers lead together. It was truly amazing!! We played Wishing by Dr. Suzuki and Then Voice, Cello, Piano, Harp, Viola, Flute, Guitar, Bass and Organ students performed. Then Violin. It took almost 2 hours and the students were SO GOOD!! The Violins performed Allegro with Book 2 students on the duet. Then Humoresque, Gigue by Veracini and the most advanced Violin piece was Gluck Melodie. It was truly gorgeous. However, I really think that in three years the advanced violins need to play something flashier. Oh I forgot to mention that after that we played a piece called Jubilate! by Kurt Bestor and it was FANTASTIC!! What a great finale!! But Anyway for the violins, I wonder how many students from all over Utah would be able to play Mendelssohn 3rd movement…?? That is what they play in Japan at Buddokan. Anyway it was gorgeous!! Congratulations to all Utah Students, Teachers and especially PARENTS!!
